2nd in the world! What a day at the Ironman World Championship. Still can’t believe how I managed to get through that marathon. I want to thank everyone on my team for the support leading into and especially during the race. This one is for you. Winning this race has been the biggest dream of mine since I got into the sport. We poured everything we had into this project together and got so close. To me it feels like a win. 3rd last year and 2nd this time, hopefully that bodes well for next year. Congrats to everyone, pros and age groupers, that finished this brutal yet so beautiful race. Especially @rudyvonberg for always being consistent when it matters the most and finishing in 3rd place. And @patricklange1 for an absolute masterclass on how to race this course and a Kona threepeat. Put on my trusty Nike Alphafly 1 for a long run on the road towards Eldora. Long efforts at Ironman pace in hilly terrain and ~2700m altitude definitely hits different. This concludes my fifth week of training here. One more to go and then we jump on the plane to Kona!

Almost 3 weeks into the Kona camp and some solid work is being put into the bike. Currently my bike training consists of two hard sessions per week. Tuesdays I’m doing threshold intervals up Lefthand Canyon aiming to accumulate 70-80 min of work around LT2. This also serves as a good and difficult pacing exercise as the intervals will start at 1700m altitude and end around 3200m! Saturday is a long ride focusing on IM efforts which will build throughout the camp in duration and the amount of intensity. I like to do a big loop on this ride and let the terrain dictate the length of the intervals. This Saturday I have 5h planned with 3h at Ironman pace along the way. 📷: @itskennywithrow

I’m back in Colorado again for a 6 week altitude camp towards Kona. We’re staying in the same city as earlier this year when I was preparing for Challenge Roth. The first week of training here has been really good and I feel the adjustment to high altitude has been easier this time round. I’m excited for the next weeks of building the shape for IM World Champs.

My highlight at @t100triathlon London was meeting this sweet fan who surprised me with a great drawing and a big cheering sign for the race. The atmosphere and support out on the course was amazing and even though my own performance was far from what I had hoped for, I’m happy to come away with 4th place on a day where everything felt like a struggle. Huge congrats to the guys on the podium, well done! This concludes the first part of my 2024 season and I’m currently enjoying a small season break and some much needed time off before the buildup for the 2nd part of the season starts 📷: PTO

A week goes by quickly when you have three weeks between races 😅 It’s been a great week after another amazing experience at @challengeroth. I’ve been blown away by the support and messages after my race and third win at Roth. What an incredible day at @challengeroth 🤯🤩 7:23:24, and a dream come true to race a full Ironman distance alone in the front from (almost) the gun. I had a great day and I’m very proud of my team who helped me to threepeat at Roth and break my own world best time from last year. What a dream day! Thank you @bikeonscott for this beast, the Plasma RC357, hinting my 2023 bike split. I wanted to have a special paintjob for a special race @challengeroth and this time I have the names of all the fantastic people in my team who help me get better daily in this great journey and life of a professional triathlete with me on the frame for extra motivation and to show my gratitude. I have arrived in Roth for my 3rd dance here, and I absolutely love this place: all the amazing people, organizers, volunteers and of course, a great and fast course. I’m back training at home in Denmark for the last specific prep for @challengeroth after 7 weeks of great altitude training in Colorado. Yesterday we did the last big brick session before the race on July 7. As always I had a great time with my team for a full day of training and testing.

Went straight back to altitude after the race in San Francisco to prepare for my first long distance race of the season at @challengeroth. Needless to say that the excitement and motivation is high for this one. I really love this photo taken on a long tempo run at Rollinsville at 2800m elevation. It reminds me of the way I work on the mental aspect of the sport. That not all paths towards a goal are straightforward and that it’s important to make decisions based on your personal values in order to move forward 📷: @itskennywithrow

P4 yesterday at the iconic @t100triathlon Escape From Alcatraz in a very tight and tricky race. Super happy and grateful to already be back racing on the biggest scene again after my crash, a lot of hard work was put into this. Ad | Exceptional sound becomes an important companion for me when training long hours. Some highlights from week 2 and 3 of high-altitude training camp in Colorado: - Started cycling outdoors again and logged probably the coolest and most beautiful 200 km ride I’ve ever done. - Weather turned to sunny and t-shirt/shorts weather. - Did a threshold track workout at 2600m altitude which was pretty cool. - Visited and got a tour in the new office and buildings of my nutrition sponsor @thefeedme. - No bears or mountain lions spotted yet.

A week before going up to altitude my team and I went to the GST wind tunnel in Immenstaad, Germany, to do some aero testing ahead of the Ironman World Championship in Kona. This was my second time testing in a wind tunnel. Having done countless hours of outside testing with incredible precision the aim of this wind tunnel visit was to find a way to minimise the discrepancies that’s often seen when comparing tunnel results with field testing in the real world. And hopefully find a few watts along the way of course ;) For this purpose we built an active turbulence grid made of wings which can be individually controlled and rotated 360°. This allowed us to reproduce some of the same dynamic wind and turbulence conditions that we have spent a great deal of time measuring outside before the tunnel visit. A wind tunnel has very constant air flow with very slow air speed and yaw variation. On the other hand, the wings of the turbulence grid can generate fast direction and speed changes. This lets us optimize for a wide range of outdoor wind conditions, since triathlon races are not held in a wind tunnel. To my knowledge this has never been done before in the bike industry. I’m incredibly proud of my team for helping support all my crazy ideas and don’t recall when I had so much fun with something! Amazing how quickly 20 hours of testing went by.

Impressions from week 1 of altitude camp in Colorado. - Living and training in ~2600 meters altitude is something else - I’m now able to complete my easy runs without having to walk up the hills - Spotted 7 moose but no black bears yet - I’ve begun swimming a little again which is nice - Still on the home trainer when riding, but hope to bike outside soon and looking forward to explore the incredible area by bike - I will be here until @t100triathlon San Francisco and then go back up again afterwards to prepare for @challengeroth

Moving slowly but steadily forward after my bike crash in Singapore. Back in Denmark I’ve started doing bike sessions on the turbo trainer and easy runs. I haven’t swum yet, but hopefully it won’t be long. We are still in the early days of training but the season is long and I can’t wait to be able to train fully again. 📷: @kasperhenrikpedersen

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the race week I had hoped for here at @t100triathlon Singapore. I crashed on my bike Tuesday afternoon and have spent the week trying to recover from that. Scans from hospital show a fracture in my left wrist of the scaphoid bone along with some other very sore parts of the body. I can’t hold onto my bike yet, and as I don’t want to risk anything regarding the rest of the season, I unfortunately have to withdraw from what seems to be great racing in Singapore. It hurts as I had looked forward to racing here, but health comes first. Good luck to everyone racing, I’ll be cheering instead!

A little look into my training for the past few Saturdays as I prepare for @t100triathlon Singapore. 6 km morning swim with the local tri club, including some longer distances at an easy effort, technical drills and shorter sprints. Straight afterwards to the track for a 20 km run with 12 x 1.000 m intervals at LT2 intensity. We’ve increased the intensity a bit on some of my harder sessions since Miami and it feels great to push a little again. Longer break around lunch and then onto the bike in the afternoon for a few hours of easy spinning with some time in the aero bars. 📷: @kasperhenrikpedersen

I’m enjoying being back home in Denmark and the body is responding well to training after the race and travel home from Miami. I’m happy to announce that I will have a go at a 3-peat at @challengeroth this summer! This race holds such a special place in my heart. The people make the atmosphere at Roth one of the most exciting races on the circuit, propelling me to the finish line. Everything about this race suits me well including the challenging and fast race course and I can’t wait to toe the line again against a stacked field and give my best once more. Let’s see if we can better my time from last year 😉 #challengeroth

Super stoked to take the win in Miami yesterday for the first ever T100 race! What a way to kick off the new season. A stellar field and some great racing in very tricky conditions made for a tough day out there. Congrats to @samgolong for a great race and Pac-Man raid all the way up to second and to @mathismargirier for 3rd place with a fantastic race from the front. To my team and everyone cheering and supporting: I’m very grateful for the support and happy to be able to give you a win and great start to the season! Well arrived in Miami and ready for the first race of the season! I have spent the last few days adjusting to the time difference and the heat and humidity which is a bit different from winter in Denmark. Did a recon on the course today and can’t wait for some epic racing on Saturday. Traditionally I’ve done all my winter training on the bike inside on the turbo trainer but this winter I’ve started mixing it up doing some of my easy sessions on my @bikeonscott Addict gravel bike. I thoroughly enjoy taking a spin in the forest as I maintain and work on my bike handling skills while exploring the trails around my home. 📷: @kasperhenrikpedersen

Race suit on the turbo trainer and coach @jenspetersenbach on the side means hard session in the making. After a lot of base and endurance work in the beginning of the year we have started to introduce brick sessions to prepare for the first @t100triathlon race in Miami! Feels good to turn the throttle again after a lot of lower intensity work. Back in Denmark after two great weeks of training camp with the Danish National Triathlon team. Was a nice and motivating way to start the year training with both the other Danish long and short distance athletes. Switched out the usual training lycra with some finer clothing yesterday. Had a great time at the Danish Award Show “Sport 2023” meeting and connecting with fellow athletes, celebrating the spirit of sports, and applauding some of the many impressive Danish sports achievements in 2023!

Happy New Year everyone! 2023 was a fantastic year for me - my three highlights from the 2023 racing season (in order of appearance) were: - @professionaltriathletesorg European Open: It might have been the most hyped and anticipated race of the season and for me, it came on the backend of a very long training block and six months without racing. The PTO races are always fun and with great race dynamics, and being a part of such a stacked field was great fun. I especially enjoyed the 80 km bike where I fought long and hard to drop Kristian Blummenfelt. In the end, I came third and was very pleased with my performance in such a deep field including every champion of the last four Olympics. - @challengeroth: It was a great pleasure coming back to Roth as the defending champion. To be able to win again, and set a world best time, was truly amazing. The race played out perfectly for me with a front-pack swim, a hard bike with Sam Laidlow, and a 2:37 marathon for a 7:24:40 victory time. Challenge Roth is known for a challenging but fast course and fantastic atmosphere, and I really love racing there. - @ironmantri World Championships, Nice: I came into the race with a dream of winning but sometimes you have to climb the podium first, and in Nice, I managed to secure a 3rd place finish after a hard fight all day. It was fun having a world championship race in new, challenging scenery, and being on the podium only motivates me even more to do better when returning to Kona come October. Back training after my end-of-season break. 4 weeks of minimal training takes it’s toll on the shape, but it’s been great for both mind and body to have a long off-season - also a little longer than usual. 5th place in IM Florida this weekend was not what I came for. Tried some new stuff out but ultimately didn’t have it on the run after a long season of racing. Pleased to swim with the front again, bike sub 4 hours and especially that I finished to validate my Kona slot from my automatic qualification in Nice which gives me much more flexibility for planning next year. It was a super fast race with some incredible performances. Huge congrats and shoutout to @rudyvonberg with the win - so great to see you back racing stronger than ever. I’m in the late stages of the preparations for my last race of the season which will be IRONMAN Florida. Being back home in Denmark in October this means spending a great deal of time on the turbo trainer. On today’s menu was a 4 h ride with 3 x 60 minutes at Ironman pace. To me it’s hard to beat the specificity of the trainer sessions when preparing for a flat and non technical Ironman bike course. How do you like turbo sessions? 📷: @byrenedomke

Happy to announce that my next race will be IRONMAN Israel on November 3! After Nice I felt that I still had the motivation and will to race one more time this season. The race will also serve as an opportunity for me to complete my 2024 Kona validation early which gives me more freedom for the planning of next year. Training towards @ironmanisrael is going according to plan and @clublasanta is treating me well! It’s always a pleasure training here. Super disappointed about my DNF yesterday at the @professionaltriathletesorg US Open. Entering T2 in first position and well in the mix I unfortunately was struggling with bad stomach problems on the run which ended my day after a few toilet stops that made it difficult to continue running. It’s not the first time this happens in an afternoon/evening race for me so it’s something my team and I will have to look into and try to get sorted. On a positive note it was great to be a part of such a well hosted event by the PTO, and I feel that my body was back firing after some tiredness from my last full distance race, and finally to see @janfrodeno put on a masterclass performance in one of his last races. On my way to Milwaukee for my next race, the PTO US Open on August 4th. I can’t wait to race the fast guys again! I love the dynamics in @professionaltriathletesorg racing and in Dallas last year, @samgolong and I had a great battle on both the bike and run ending in a sprint finish. Back home in Denmark again enjoying some easy days and letting the race and experience of a lifetime sink in after a great week in Roth 🙌🏼 This was the best all round performance of my career so far with a front pack swim, a well paced bike ride and finishing with a personal best on the marathon run. I’m especially pleased to see all the hard work in the pool pay off in a race, and hopefully I'll be able to swim in or near the front pack in the future too. As always, the amazing @challengeroth crowds carried us through the race all day long and coming to the finish line after being pushed to my absolute limits all day makes this victory and a record time truly magical. 📷: @marcelhilger #challengeroth

Ever since I started doing sports I have always been using @garminfitness products as I think they have the best GPS and monitoring equipment on the market. I'm really stoked that Garmin want to be a part of my triathlon journey, as they from now on will support me with watches, bike computers and much more. Big day of testing today in all three disciplines ahead of @challengeroth. Numbers are looking promising and I’m really looking forward to racing a full distance race again soon. A huge thanks to my team and @teamdanmark for putting this together and spending a whole day helping me out with everything. Still processing the @professionaltriathletesorg European Open and a solid start to the season with 🥉 I had an ok swim in a bigger group that also contained @kristianblu. Out onto the bike I tried my best to jump from group to group to get to the front without taking too many of my competitors with me. This was a really fun dynamic but it’s also a tough way to ride with so many hard surges. Entering T2 I had high hopes for my run and thought I was in a good position to race for the win as I’ve been running really well in training recently. I also knew that the uneven biking would take a lot out of the legs and unfortunately I wasn’t able to match the pace of @maxxyneumann and Kristian when he passed me. Overall I am happy with the race and the way I raced for my first race of the season 😀 Thank you for great photos, @simongehr 👏🏼

Good luck to everyone racing @ironmantri Texas today! Exactly one year ago I made my IRONMAN debut in Texas. I had a lot of respect for the distance and the race certainly didn’t disappoint. I pushed on the bike and had a solid lead heading into T2 when I got a cut in my tire and was sidelined for just under 10 minutes with just 5 km to go on the bike. On the marathon I was chasing just behind @bhoffmanracing for the first 35 km. When I finally caught him after 7,5 hours of racing I felt good and started attacking aggressively for the next five minutes. Unfortunately he was also super strong and was able to follow me every time and even do some counter attacks as well. I probably used too many matches on this and it all ended in an epic sprint finish where speed and experience won… But I felt like winning too: I had proved that Ironman was my distance, I had a solid debut and a 2:40 marathon, and I qualified for Kona with an extremely cool racing experience with a legend in the sport 😎

Always great to go for an easy morning run with coach @jenspetersenbach If you ask me it’s pretty cool to have a coach that can (almost…) keep up with me in all of my run training! Even though he might not be in the same zone 😜😅 My beautiful neighborhood with lots of great forrest trails and lakes makes for a great backdrop for talks on life, training plans, tests, adjustments and next steps 🏃🏽‍♂️💭😎

Another Thursday long run with coach @jenspetersenbach in the bag. 2,5 hours easy cruise along the trails and lakes in my neighbourhood. Great to see the first signs of spring arriving in Denmark 🌱🍃🪵

Back in Denmark and back in the lab with a few days of testing this week. Always great to go in the laboratory after a block of training to see how the body is reacting on different interventions. This round of testing was mainly focused on measuring efficiency across swim, bike and run around Ironman pace 🚀

I’m super happy to have had my swim coach @bojacobsencoaching overlooking many of my sessions in the water here on camp. As I don’t have a background in swimming I have been working with Bo since 2017 to put extra focus on the development of my swim technique. I think it’s fair to say that I’ve improved a lot over the years but I’m not done yet, so I train with Bo as often as possible with a clear goal in mind: to put me in a position where I can swim more consistently with the front group 🏊🏼‍♂️

I’m currently in the last week of a 3 week training camp at @clublasanta. My training on the bike at the moment is mainly focused around some high intensity VO2max work. Today’s 🚴 session was a 4h ride including 5x4 min VO2max intensity up Tabayesco with 1,5 min easy spin between each interval. I feel right at home on my Plasma 6 from @bikeonscott so I often bring it to training camps to make my training a bit more specific to race situations. #clublasanta #SCOTTbikes

I'm excited to share this news with you! I will be on the start line, aiming to defend my @challengeroth title from 2022 on June 25, 2023 💪🎉 My win at Challenge Roth last year was the best performance of my career so far. To be a part of this legendary race was on my bucket list, and to win it in my first try was simply amazing. The atmosphere all day long was incredible and I can't thank @felix_walchshoefer and the Challenge Roth team, the volunteers, and all the spectators enough. I hope all triathletes will get to race Roth at least once in their life! Recap 2022: My win at @challengeroth 🤩

Merry Christmas everyone! The coming days leading up to New Years eve, I’ll recap my races from 2022. I started the year in 14th position in the @professionaltriathletesorg World Rankings and ended in 3rd. I’m very happy and proud of my 2022 season and hope you’ll watch my recaps from racing starting with Clash Miami and my long distance debut at IRONMAN Texas.

Great visit at the @fusion_sportswear headquarters the other day. I’m excited to continue our collaboration for the coming years and work towards developing the fastest possible race day apparel out there. Working with a Danish brand that shares the same values around performance and optimisation as myself makes FUSION a perfect match for me.

Currently enjoying the last bit of my off season. It has been good to have a couple of easy weeks without a fixed schedule to follow after a long but great season. Body was definitely needing a bit of rest after Cozumel but I’m slowly starting to get hungry again and can’t wait to start the work towards next season. 📸: @lalobadillo_

IRONMAN CHAMPION 🥳 Super happy to end my season with a win yesterday at @ironmanmexico and claim a Kona qualification for next year. This was for sure the most difficult race I’ve ever done after what has been a very long season. Gearing up for one last race of the season this Sunday. Post 70.3 Worlds, we pretty quickly decided to give Ironman Cozumel a try to chase an early Kona qualification for next year. After some cold days in St. George it has been good to get in 1,5 weeks of training in the heat again and have @kasperhenrikpedersen by my side handing out cold refreshments along the way 🍹 #IMCozumel

🥉yesterday at the @ironmantri 70.3 World Championships. Super stoked to claim the last spot on the podium 3 weeks post Kona after a great battle with @kristianblu and @benkanute. Congrats guys! Had a very solid day across all 3 disciplines and it was great to be back racing in beautiful St. George which is without doubt one of my absolute favourite places to compete. Thanks to all the great spectators that came out to cheer in the cold yesterday and to my family, friends and team, both onsite and in Denmark, whose continued support makes it possible for me to do what I love. 📸: @theewynn

1 week to go before another World Championships race. After a few easy days post Kona I made it to St. George, where I’ve been back to the swing of things for the past week trying to get some more speed in the legs ahead of 70.3 Worlds. The body seems to come along nicely and I’m looking forward to give this race a crack next Saturday. 📸: @simongehr

8th place at my first Ironman World Championship in Kona. The race and the weeks leading up to it certainly didn't disappoint and this Island is something truly special. I'm proud of the way I fought all the way to the finishline despite my 5min penalty. I’m obviously disappointed with the outcome as I came here for more, but this will certainly not be my last attempt for the title here in Kona ! And to my team, sponsors, family and friends: THANK YOU 🙏🏻

Smiling because there’s less than one week until race day 🎉🎉 Had a lovely OW swim on the course this evening to end a good day of training. Tomorrow is the Ho’ala test swim where we get the chance to swim the course in a race situation and then it’s not long until the tapering starts. 📷: @simongehr

Another long and hot tempo run in the Energy lab. I’m really enjoying my first time here in Kona and the feeling in training is getting better and better each day 🌺 ☀️

Looking back on the race in Dallas and another great battle with these two gentlemen! It’s such a cool journey to be a part of and amazing how much we are able to push and inspire each other to become better. Not just in racing but also on a daily basis.
